Cucumber Eye Gel - make your own

I love eye gels and have used them on and off for years. I finally found one I really, really liked but the maker changed the recipe. I decided it was time to have a go at making my own.

So here is my ridiculously simple recipe for cucumber eye gel.

Cucumber Eye Gel

You need:

1 medium sized cucumber

Wash, peel and chop the cucumber. Blend until liquid. Stain the liquid through cheesecloth or a very fine sieve. You need to remove all the "bits" so you may need to strain the cucumber liquid a couple of times.

Place the aloe vera gel in a bowl and mix in 2 tablespoons of the cucumber juice. Pour into a small glass with a secure lid. Shake, then chill for at least one hour before using.

Apply under and around your eyes at night. This will keep for approximately three months when stored in the fridge.

  1. I am going to try this as I have plenty of aloe vera and can buy a cucumber. Eye cream can be so expensive so thank you for sharing this natural recipe with us at #Wednesdayswisdom. See you next week.

  4. Oh, I love that recipe!
What great way to be self sufficient :) I hate when they change recipes.
Happened to me with mascara. It was 13 years ago and I've never found the one I really like since then.
Do you have 'mascara recipe' by any chance ? ;)

    1. I've not tried making mascara, but I think I might just have to do some research,a bit of experimenting and see what I come up with. ;)
      Thanks.
